1975 Islander sloop
With almost 800 launched, the Islander 36 has proven one of the most popular 36' sailboats ever built, and remains one of the most active one-design fleets on the Bay. With the deep keel option (which this vessel has), skeg hung rudder and keel-stepped mast, the I-36 is a stiff boat that handles the typical Bay summer winds with aplomb while also doing well in light airs.
And not surprisingly with her comfortable cockpit and spacious interior, the design is also well-suited for cruising and you regularly see them heading to Mexico and points South as part of the Baja Ha-Ha fleet. For more comments and insight on this U.S.-built classic, do a Google search for "Islander 36", then link to the I-36 Owner's Association.
This particular example is in decent shape and was just hauled in early 2022, also new canvas in 2020 and new sails in 2018, plus a well maintained Perkins 4-108 diesel (not the pesky Pathfinder found on many Islander 36s of this vintage!), AND is real competitively priced--all in all a nice turn key package!
Also note she's lying in a potentially transferable Sausalito Yacht Harbor slip right downtown--there's a long wait to get a slip in the marina here so this is a material benefit if you're able to take advantage...
