1982 Gulfstar Motor Cruiser
Florida-based Gulfstar was one of the leading yacht builders throughout most of the 1970s and 80s, and the 48 foot motor yacht, with her planing hull, was their entry into the modern motor yacht market. This Robert Lazzara design was produced using what was state-of-the art construction techniques for the time, and the roomy interior (note 15' beam!) is well fit out in lavishly worked teak (note for example the intricately formed banister for the salon stairs).
This particular example has had over $90,000 spent on her over the past six years (including being Awlgripped from the rub rail up including new non skid decks) and shows BEAUTIFULLY! She's galley down with a dinette and is the three stateroom/three head configuration with the master stateroom aft (with centerline queen berth), and the boat has an ENORMOUS fully enclosed aft deck and flybridge.
Note low time on 390 hp Detroit Diesel 6-71TIs (these were an option over the standard 290 hp engines) with turbos and exhaust elbows replaced in 2015, recent (2016) isinglass, new batteries (2020), salon painted all the big windows pulled and rebedded (these two projects alone were about $15,000), the interior is amazingly spacious with 6'5 headroom throughout and really must be seen to be appreciated.
She's the only big Gulfstar for sale on the west coast at present and with recent major price reduction is VERY competitively priced by a motivated two boat owner.
