1983 Monk custom double cabin trawler

Sausalito, California

$69,000

Ed Monk designed this classic twin cabin trawler as a practical cruising yacht and, having brought her up from Mexico, the then-owners of this boat enthusiastically said he succeeded. A sea-kindly hull configuration, impressive range and a functional layout below (with more room than a Grand Banks 46') all contributed to the success of their cruise, and since then Outa D'Bleu has been professionally maintained and only used locally--she was launched in 1983 (the last year of this model), and was just detailed so shows well.

In addition, she was modified to add the two things missing from her former owner's wish list (an enclosed flybridge and access to same from the main salon) and is now unquestionably one of the best designed and trawlers of this vintage on the market1

Some highlights: custom enclosed hardtop installed at a cost of almost $20,000, custom Awlgripped mast, custom fuel filtration/distribution system, full modern electronics, remodeled galley, reverse-cycle heat/air, custom stainless steel electric crane for 10' Avon RIB with low-time 5 hp Nissan four-stroke outboard, less than barely 2,000 hours on twin naturally aspirated Cat 3208s. Two staterooms both with walk-around centerline queens, 6'4 headroom and teak & holly sole throughout.

Note that previous owner documented 1,400 hours of his time spent upgrading this yacht during his tenure and the end result must be seen.

Boat's lying Sausalito Yacht Harbor in potentially transferabe slip.
