2015 X-Yachts Xc 38

Sausalito, California

$315,000

Over the past three four decades or so, X-Yachts has earned a reputation for building fast, high quality sailboats that have won major regattas all over the world. In recent years they have broadened their product lines to include full on cruising yachts, as opposed to the racer-cruisers they were originally known for. Their cruising boat line carries the designation "Xc" and the  Xc-38 is the smallest in that line. Introduced in 2010, the design was an immediate hit and won European Yacht of the Year award in 2011.

As with her bigger sister ships, the Xc 38 is an aft cockpit design with attractive, classically styled lines that maximize the deck space (as well as giving her a beautiful profile!). The Xc’s hull lines are fuller than those of the performance models and have a deeper V-section forward of the keel for a more comfortable motion offshore.

Despite her bluewater cruising credentials, the Xc 38 still provides the performance, response and exhilaration under sail that that X-Yacht are known for. Her generous fuel and fresh water tanks are all low and central in the yacht for optimum weight distribution, and her greater displacement is cancelled out  by a larger sail area to retain a similar performance to her Xp stablemates; her shallower draft requires a heavier keel bulb to keep her stiff in a blow, but in return this provides a yacht that is more forgiving and more easily controlled by a short-handed, or even single-handed crew.

Anyway, this particular example two stateroom example has less than a hundred hours clocked on a new Volvo-Penta diesel installed late in 2020 and shows almost as new inside and out. She's also very competitively priced and one of only a handful of X-Yachts for sale in the U.S.

Manufacturer Provided Description

The Xc 38 was the second yacht in the Xcruising Range to be named European Yacht of the Year in the "Luxury Cruiser" Category, on its launch in 2011. The judges were particularly impressed by the spaciousness and luxurious levels of comfort in the interior. Under sail, under motor or in harbour, the Xc 38 may be easily and safely sailed double-handed, yet still offers ample space both above and below decks to accomodate guests and family.
