2016 Dufour 310 Grand Large
La Rochelle, France-based Dufour has been building sail boats since 1964 and is world renowned for their big, luxurious sailing yachts (their smallest boat is now 32' but they're much better known for their 40 and 50 footers) but the 310, the smallest of the Grand Large range, incorporates all the technology, style and comfort possible from those bigger models.
Successfully, I might add: the result is a fast, stylish little yacht with great personality, characterized by excellent performance, maximum ease of handling (thanks to twin steering wheels and dual rudders), and the timeless elegance of Dufour Yachts both above and below--the design embodies all that Dufour has learned from building boats for the past 60+ years.
This particular example is one of the few 310s ever brought into the US; she was custom ordered by her current owner (who also keeps an older Dufour on Lake Michigan), based on his experience with his first Dufour over the years. Harizon shows VERY nicely inside and out, is the deep draft version (much preferred on the Bay) and is well equipped with a number of custom touches (central heat down below and a main sheet with traveler installed forward of the wheels to facilitate single handing, for example).
She's also competitively priced and should be considered a must see for anybody in the market for a clean, late model racer-cruiser--and note there is hardly ANYTHING available locally by ANY builder!
